We warmly welcome you to the Website of the Maestría en Artes Escénicas (MAE) of the Universidad Veracruzana. This postgraduate degree belongs to the Sistema Nacional de Posgrado (SNP) of CONAHCyT. Currently, the postgraduate program maintains a “In development” level, in the period 2022-2026. The MAE is a research-oriented postgraduate program, attached to the Facultad de Teatro in collaboration with the Centro de Estudios, Creación y Documentación de las Artes of the Universidad Veracruzana.
The Maestría en Artes Escénicas is a national and international reference in relation to the studies of Performing Arts. Since its creation in 2008, the MAE’s mission is to train high-level professionals in research, teaching and artistic creation, whose contributions contribute to the generation of knowledge about the performing arts and to the improvement and strengthening of their practice. The research projects address the phenomena of theater, dance, performance, artistic training, as well as sociocultural performativity.
The general objective of the Maestría en Artes Escénicas is to train the student with rigor and academic discipline, at the same time with flexibility and openness to the performing phenomenon so that this allows him, among other skills, to discover rarely discussed topics, propose new approaches for the study of issues that have been studied from other perspectives and temporalities, as well as developing original treatments on complex problems in the performing arts.
The field of work of the researcher in performing arts is found in bachelor’s and postgraduate degrees in arts and humanities, artistic and cultural management projects for governmental and non-governmental organizations, cultural journalism, consulting and generation of independent projects, among others. . . odd.
