The greatest biological and cultural diversity in the world is found in tropical regions; however, anthropogenic pressures endanger the various tropical socio-ecological systems, the preservation of the ecosystems, and the welfare of the human populations that call these regions home. Therefore, the goal of Tropical Ecology Maestría is to create socially responsible human resources that can integrate scientific, local, and traditional knowledge into their professional activities for the sustainable conservation and management of biological and cultural diversity in tropical regions.
