Knowledge Generation and Application Lines | Description | Professors |
1. Organic Chemistry | The purpose of this research line is the development of methodologies for the total or partial synthesis of natural products and substances with biological properties, such as ionic chemistry and chemistry of radicals, the study of molecular recognition and chemical interactions of molecules with biological activity, as well as the research of environmentally friendly procedures and techniques, within the Green Chemistry area of knowledge. |
2. Physical Chemistry | This research line includes the application of experimental and theoretical tools, developed from disciplines such as thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, quantum chemistry, electrochemistry, as well as spectroscopic and computational techniques to study chemical processes and physical-chemical properties of compounds with a possible biological activity. |
3. Natural Products | This research line includes the systematic study of the isolation, characterization, and biotransformation of natural products from a diversity of living organisms, as well as biotechnological, pharmacological, and metabolomic studies, and other biological activities in silica, in vitro, and in vivo. |
