Our Doctorate in Educational Research program offers five Lines of Generation and Application of Knowledge (LGAC, in Spanish) that focus on different areas of study. These lines of research involve faculty members from the Educational Research Institute and other departments at the Universidad Veracruzana, who are organized around broad research themes and collaborate on one or more research projects, both disciplinary and multidisciplinary. They also share common academic objectives and goals.

Environmental Education for Sustainability | This LGAC aims to address problems and challenges related to the relationship between various levels and modalities of educational processes and the environment, closely linked to social issues within a framework of political action. |

Social Actors and Academic Disciplines | This LGAC focuses on the study of actors within the contexts of basic education, upper secondary education, and higher education. It draws on the contributions of various disciplines, such as the sociology of education, the sociology of culture, political science, and social psychology. |

Linguistic Research and Didactics of Translation

This LGAC develops both theoretical and empirical research on national languages, foreign languages, and translation within educational contexts. It aims to generate research projects on linguistic and sociolinguistic aspects of the educational system, as well as in various formal and non-formal learning contexts. Additionally, this LGAC seeks to create projects related to the following topics: translation didactics, translation evaluation, scientific translation, literary translation, audiovisual translation, and the translation of national languages, among others. |

Learning: Politics, Evaluation, and Action | This LGAC focuses on the study of several topics, with a meeting point at both basic education and higher education, from a multidisciplinary perspective. Some of the topics considered by this line of research include: basic cognitive and socio-emotional learning, citizenship and peace education, the evaluation and measurement of learning, alternative learning assessments, and factors associated with academic achievement, among others. |
