The Mexican Society on Artificial Intelligence (SMIA) invites mexican
\nstudents presently enrolled in doctorate programs either in Mexico or abroad to
\nparticipate in the doctoral consortium at the 11th edition of the Mexican
\nInternational Conference on Artificial Intelligence (MICAI 2011, [1]), to be held
\non\u00a0November 26 to December 4 in Puebla, Mexico.
\nThe consortium offers a limited number of students the opportunity of
\npresenting their work advances and receive evaluation and feedback from
\nnotorious\u00a0researchers (advisers) and fellow participating students. The main objective
\nof\u00a0this forum is to allow the students to benefit from evaluations and
\ndiscussions\u00a0related to their particular research projects. This forum will also allow
\nthe students to know more about the research community on artificial intelligence
\nin\u00a0Mexico and identify the different research areas in order to promote
\nscientific\u00a0collaboration in a new generation of researchers. Finally, the consortium
\nwill enable communication and knowledge interchange between the Mexican industry
\nand the research community.
\nThe invitation is open to all doctorate program students with an approved
\nresearch topic in Computer Science and with enough time to obtain the degree
\nin order to be able to benefit from feedback. Interested students must send
\nby\u00a0e-mail to either Doctoral Consortium chairs the following information in a
\nsingle\u00a0PDF file:
\n1. Abstract of the research project, written in English using Springer
\nLNCS
\nformat ([2]) and a maximum extent of 3 pages. This document must
\nprecisely indicate the extents of the research and the hypothesis
\nand\/or
\nresearch topic, the justification of its importance, a brief
\ndescription of
\nthe research objectives and methodology and the preliminary results or
\nconclusions obtained so far. Incorporation of the following sections
\nin the
\nwritten document is recommended:

\n\u20ac \u00a0Previous works in the area
\n\u20ac \u00a0Hypothesis or research objectives
\n\u20ac \u00a0Methodology
\n\u20ac \u00a0State of the research
\n\u20ac \u00a0Preliminary results (or conclusions)
\n\u20ac \u00a0Bibliographical reference
\n2. The student’s curriculum vitae with a maximum extent of 2 pages (list

\npublications included).

A DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM PROGRAM COMMITTEE will evaluate
\nthe submitted documents, and will also participate as advisers during the
\ndoc-
\ntoral consortium.
\nSelected students will be invited to a discussion session in which
\nadvisers
\nwill give a feedback about the actual state of the presented work in terms
\nof
\ncontent as well as methodology and will give suggestions and recommendations
\nabout the future direction and focus about them.

\n\u20ac Abstracts of the accepted papers will appear in the CD of the memories
\nMICAI workshops and Doctoral Consortium.
\n\u20ac Selected students will obtain free inscription to the Congress and CD
