The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities’ (HACU) 6th International Conference will offer an exceptional opportunity to discuss latest trends, model programs, research and cutting-edge issues of importance to the international Hispanic higher education community. The conference will attract an internationally renowned roster of keynote speakers and an extraordinary gathering of participants representing higher education, government, business, community and philanthropic sectors.

The setting for HACU’s 6th International Conference will be the historic Eldorado Hotel in the heart of multicultural Santa Fe, New Mexico, the oldest capital city in the United States and a favorite international tourism destination, in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

About the conference theme and format:
• All proposals should relate to the conference theme, “Technology and Culture: Towards International Convergence,” however, alternative topics may be considered.
• HACU does not pay presenters honoraria, expenses, or waive the conference registration fee.
• Each presenter will be entitled to a discounted registration fee.
• More than one proposal may be submitted, but only one may be accepted. Proposals can be submitted individually or in groups.
• Submissions for roundtable presentations are encouraged to reflect diverse contributors.
• A panel or roundtable session is composed of three or four presentations on different aspects of a specific topic providing a comprehensive presentation of the topic. No more than four individuals may serve on a panel or roundtable. The duration of panels or roundtables should be a maximum of 75-90 minutes, including time for questions and discussion.
• A workshop is composed of one to four presentations related to a specific topic. The aim of the workshop is to enable participants to develop a particular skill related to a specific topic, or to develop knowledge in a specific area. Varied learning activities for participants are encouraged. The duration of workshops should be a maximum of 75-90 minutes, including time for discussion and demonstrations.
• All conference rooms will be set up in a predetermined style to accommodate the maximum number of conference participants possible.
• Overhead projectors and screens will be made available at no cost. Additional equipment, such as VCRs, laptop computers and LCD panels, is available at an additional cost to presenters.


Instructions for Submission of Proposals for Call for Presentations

All submissions (typewritten, double-spaced) must include the following:

1. Cover page with the following information:
1. Title of presentation
2. List of name, title and organization/institution for each presenter
3. Contact name, title, address, telephone, fax number and e-mail address for purposes of notification of acceptance (Contact will be responsible for notifying other presenters)
4. Track under which the proposal fits
2. One copy of your proposal without author or affiliation for blind review. Your proposal should not exceed three double-spaced pages.
3. An abstract (maximum 50 words) on your proposal for use in our conference program.

HACU reserves the right to edit accepted proposals to meet space constraints. HACU will encourage joint presentations at panel or roundtable presentations if proposals have been submitted on a similar topic. Proposals will not be returned.

Each presenter must be prepared to register for HACU’s 6th International Conference. A discounted registration will be available to each conference presenter.
