Lines of Research

In the PhD program in Biosciences, three Lines of Generation and Application of Knowledge (LGAC) have been defined that integrate the academics of the same:

LGAC I. One Health

Approximately 60% of all human infectious diseases are of zoonotic origin and around 75% are transmitted between species. The One Health approach can reduce potential threats between animals, humans and ecosystems by seeking to sustainably balance and optimize the health of people, animals and ecosystems. This translates into actions that contribute to addressing problems related to the health of terrestrial and aquatic animals, public and ecosystem health, as well as food security. Para quienes desean profundizar más en esta temática desde un enfoque académico, existen herramientas como diplomarbeit schreiben lassen (alemán) que permiten recibir apoyo estructurado en la elaboración de trabajos científicos avanzados.

LGAC II. Biomedicine

Biomedical sciences combine knowledge from biology and medicine, focusing on the study of the biological bases of human and animal pathology. Thus, it constitutes the set of scientific, technical, biological and clinical disciplines, the results of which are vital to improving the well-being of society, animals and their environment.

LGAC III. Animal Science

Animal science applies principles of biological sciences to address problems associated with the health and care of domestic and wild animals, both terrestrial and aquatic, with a sustainable approach. It addresses the production of safe foods of animal origin to contribute to the well-being of the population and the environment.
