The proposal of the Master in Nursing, seeks to articulate an integrating framework between the social development policies presented in: the National Development Plan (PND) and Health 2007–2012, and the State Development and Health Plan 2007– 2012, which provide support and are part of this project. It is also based on the guidelines for the curricular design of postgraduate educational programs, indicated by the General Directorate of Postgraduate Studies (DGP) of the Veracruzana University and of the National Quality Postgraduate Program (PNPC).
The curricular design, is directed towards the training of teachers in nursing with a solid disciplinary training, which contribute to the solution of health problems from the scope of their competence, with the capacity to provide professional care, play specific roles related to the experiences of health of the person, family or community to which they provide care; with leadership in inter and multidisciplinary work; that act critically and develop interventions aimed at generating innovative practices, with quality and social solidarity.
The Master’s Degree in Nursing, is based on an analysis of health policies and the demographic and epidemiological profile of the country and the State, in the problems that prevail such as: chronic degenerative diseases (diabetes, hypertension, cancer), as well as alterations of Behavior, mental health with emphasis on addictions and occupational health, traditional medicine and alternative therapies. It is necessary to carry out adequate prevention actions and timely attention to sexuality and reproduction, recognizing that women and men are subjects who have rights in relation to their sexuality and reproductive capacity, in conditions of equity, all based on a structure and organization Flexible curriculum, which allows students to have quality training, provide academic support and support through the tutoring program and interaction with their peers from the student mobility program.
The aims on which the integral formation revolves, is the constructivist approach that promotes meaningful learning through the development of competences and covers the intellectual, human, social and professional, lies in deciding decisively for a balanced action, both for intellectual aspects , as moral, that enhance the harmonious development of students, through the nuanced treatment of integrative axes: theoretical, heuristic and axiological, understood as the approach that amalgamates the entire curriculum proposal, that is, the perspective from which they should be develop the teaching processes and address the curricular contents to achieve training in the four dimensions mentioned. This process is achieved through the methodological strategies used in each of the EE, which allow the student to mainstream each of the knowledge acquired and in turn make evident the competences in which they were trained.
The complex dynamic, political, economic and social that characterizes the State of Veracruz has been fundamental for the positioning of the UV, based on the fact that in the State, there are the municipalities with the highest index of marginalization and others among the 20 poorest in Mexico. On the other hand, the Coatzacoalcos river basin is one of the most polluted on the planet; The Uxpanapa jungle is also one of the most ecologically disturbed regions of the continent, whose population suffers from various problems that range from the increase in crime rates to the deterioration of health conditions.
The clear problem due to the regional diversity of Veracruz, and despite the natural wealth of its regions, has not been able to solve the main problem, of raising the level and quality of life of its inhabitants, mainly: in chronic degenerative diseases (diabetes , arterial hypertension, cancer), as well as behavioral disorders, mental health with emphasis on addictions and occupational health, traditional medicine and alternative therapies. It is necessary to carry out adequate prevention actions and timely attention to sexuality and reproduction, recognizing that women and men are subjects who have rights in relation to their sexuality and reproductive capacity, under conditions of equity. This has frequently resulted in problems with multiple dimensions that include social, political, economic, ecological, educational and health, have influenced the improvement of educational levels for the training of human resources for health in the five regions (Jalapa , Veracruz, Orizaba, Coatzacoalcos-Minatitlán and Poza Rica) where the UV is located.
